Partner Terms

Our affiliate program, ShortPool Partners (the "Program"), runs under these Partner Terms (the "Terms"). They form a contract between you as a partner (the "Partner") and ShortPool, also called "we" or "us". They sit alongside our general Terms of Use and do not replace them. Once you create a partner link, you are confirming that these Terms have been read and agreed to.

1. Who can join

  • One partner account is allowed per person. Your ShortPool account must be in good standing, and its email address must be verified.
  • Any application or partner account may be reviewed by us, and we may approve, pause or decline it.
  • Your partner link carries your partner code, for example shortpool.tv/?ref=yourname. You may post it on channels of your own, provided you respect these Terms and whatever rules apply on the platform where you post.

2. Activity that is not allowed

Partners must not do any of the following:

  • Self-referral of any kind: purchases through your own link, extra accounts of your own, or paying people to register or buy.
  • Fake reviews, misleading claims, spam or messages nobody asked for.
  • Cookie stuffing, forcing or hiding your link, or creating accounts, clicks or sign-ups that are fake or automated.
  • Posing as ShortPool, or using our name or brand in paid search ads or in domain names.
  • Sharing titles marked 18+ with people under 18, or on a platform whose rules do not allow adult content.
  • Breaking the law or our Terms of Use in any other way.

3. How customers become yours

  • A person is attributed to you after they follow your link and then manage to sign in or register successfully. If they were already signed in when they followed it, attribution happens at once. Nobody is attributed to any partner while they stay signed out.
  • Attribution lasts 1 month from that point (the "window"). A longer window applies only if we have agreed one with you, and your dashboard shows the window that applies to you.
  • All purchases the customer makes within the window are credited to you, whatever their number: credit packs, Plus plans and renewals alike.
  • A customer still within some other partner's window stays with that partner until the window closes. Following your link during that time has no effect.
  • After your window closes, the customer stops being attributed to you, so any later purchase, including a subscription renewal, pays you nothing. A fresh click on your link will not reopen the window for you; another partner is the only one who can attribute that customer again. Such customers disappear from your dashboard.
  • Purchases from your own account, and any purchase made before attribution, never generate commission.

4. How commission is worked out

  • You earn a percentage of the net sum that actually reaches us from each purchase: the price the customer paid, after deducting every tax and whatever our third-party payment provider charges in fees. The percentages in force are listed in your dashboard and on the Program page, and Plus plans may carry a different rate from credit packs.
  • Our third-party payment provider can take a little while after a purchase to confirm the final net sum. In the meantime your dashboard displays an estimate and labels it as one. When the final figure arrives, the difference is corrected automatically, in a later cycle where the first cycle has closed by then.
  • We work in US dollars when calculating commission. Rates are subject to change, and a new rate covers only purchases that come after the change.

5. Chargebacks and refunds

  • Commission on a purchase that is charged back, reversed or refunded before payout is cancelled, even where the cycle has already closed, and your dashboard records the deduction.
  • If the refund, reversal or chargeback comes after payout, we take the same amount off your following payouts.

6. Cycles and payouts

  • Cycles close on the 1st of every month. A purchase made before the 1st counts towards the cycle that has just closed, whose commission is paid by the 15th of that month. A purchase on or after the 1st counts towards the following cycle.
  • Payouts have to be requested from your dashboard. Your dashboard also shows the minimum payout (currently US$30); balances under the minimum carry over into the next cycle.
  • We pay to the payout details saved in your dashboard, minus any payout fee displayed there. It is up to you to enter the right details, and a payment made to the details you supplied is final.
  • As a security measure, changing your payout details pauses payout requests for a short time.
  • If we are still checking the final net sum of a given purchase with the third-party payment provider, its commission may be held back and added to a later cycle.

7. Suspension, bans and fraud

  • We keep watch for fraud in the Program. Where we reasonably believe you have acted fraudulently or broken Section 2, we can suspend your partner account or ban it for good, with no prior notice.
  • When a partner account is banned, any commission still unpaid is forfeited and will never be paid out, open payout requests are cancelled, and all customers attributed to you are released immediately. Those customers are not affected and can go on using ShortPool as normal.
  • Contact us whenever you want to quit the Program. Except where your account was banned, earned commission at or above the minimum payout is then paid in the usual cycle.

8. Tax

Any tax owed on your commission in your country of residence is yours to declare and pay. We do not deduct tax for you.

9. General

  • You act as an independent partner. Joining the Program does not make you our employee, our agent or our representative.
  • What you are owed is worked out from the records we keep of commission, refunds, purchases and links. If you believe something is wrong, raise it with us no later than 60 days after the cycle in question.
  • To the extent the law allows, the most we can be liable to you for under the Program is the commission you validly earned and have not yet received.

10. Updates to these Terms

We may change these Terms. The version in force is always the one on this page, and each change takes effect on the date it is published. By continuing to share your link after a change, you accept the revised Terms.
